Police have ordered to keep closed all kinds of shops except pharmacies in Chattogram city starting from 7:00pm in the evening to 6:00am next morning, in a fresh attempt to stem coronavirus spread in the city.

The directive will be effective from April 6, Mahabubur Rahman, Chattogram Metropolitan Police commissioner confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.

Earlier, CMP issued a press release in this regard.

"For the best interest of people to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus in the city, the order will be in force until further notice," CMP commissioner Mahabubur Rahman said.

However, two people in Chattogram were diagnosed with covid-19 in last two days. Some areas of the city have already imposed self-appointed lockdown after the news broke.
