No separate coronavirus hospital for VIPs: Health minister
The government has not designated any hospital to treat only the VIP coronavirus patients, Health Minister Zahid Maleque said today.
In a virtual briefing, the minister said, "We saw some media outlets published news saying we are designating a hospital for VIPs, but we did not make any such arrangement. All will get same treatment."
"I urged all not to give any statement without permission from authorities. This creates confusion and is against the policy of the government," the minister added.
On Wednesday, several sources said that Sheikh Russel Gastroliver Institute and Hospital will treat VIPs and diplomats who test positive for the Covid-19.
The death toll from the deadly coronavirus rises to 127 and the number of total infected person stands at 4,186 in the country as of Thursday.
