No more free accommodation for health workers at Mugda hospital

Doctors, nurses and other health workers at Mugda Medical College and Hospital will no longer get hotel accommodation for free.
The hospital authorities disclosed the information through an office order issued on Sunday.
"According to the health ministry circular issued on July 29, health workers willing to stay in hotels need to bear their own expenses," the office order reads.
Earlier, the health ministry circular said the health workers will get a 15-day vacation after every 15 days of work. During the vacation, they will stay in quarantine. But the government will not provide them with any free accommodation during the time.
However, the health authorities will manage food, accommodation and provide them with special allowances for the 15 days of their duty.
Doctors working in Dhaka will receive a daily allowance of Tk2,000, while doctors working outside will receive Tk1,800. Nurses in Dhaka will receive Tk1,800 and those outside the city will get Tk1,200.
Similarly, other health workers in and outside Dhaka will receive a daily allowance of Tk800 and Tk650 respectively.
No one will receive an allowance for more than 15 days a month.
Earlier on April 14, the government booked 580 rooms at 20 hotels for doctors and nurses, who are in the frontline of the fight against the novel coronavirus.
