Lakshmipur reports 17 new coronavirus cases in a day

Lakshmipur district has reported 17 new coronavirus cases in one day. 

With this, the number of infected patients in the district stands at 19.

Lakshmipur District Civil Surgeon Dr Abdul Gaffar confirmed the matter to The Business Standard on Thursday night. 

Among the newly infected, 13 are from the district's Ramganj upazila while three are from Kamalnagar and one from Lakshmipur Sadar upazila. 

Earlier on April 12, one patient from Ramganj and another from Ramgati upazila were tested positive with the virus. 

Meanwhile, Chattogram's Civil Surgeon Dr Fazle Rabbi said that the Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Disease (BITID) tested samples from 111 suspected patients. 

Among which, 19 came positive and 17 of the positive samples were from Lakshmipur.
