Upazila health officer of Kapasia, 17 employees of Kapasia Upazila Hospital and some of their relatives tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday in Gazipur.

With this, the total number of coronavirus-infected people in the district stands at 149, including 11 doctors and 36 health workers.

Kapasia Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ismat Ara said, "Samples collected from the suspected health workers and their relative were sent to IEDCR for tests. Test result of 17 among them was positive."

According to officials concerned, Kapasia has the highest number of coronavirus infections in the district.

Civil surgeon MD Khairuzzaman said, "The number of Covid-19 positive people is rising every day in Gazipur."
