Jamalpur district put under lockdown

Another coronavirus infected patient aged around 35 years was found in the district after first COVID-19 case was confirmed a few days ago

Jamalpur district put under lockdown

Local administration today put the district under lockdown to stem coronavirus spread as another COVID-19 infected patient was confirmed, an official said.

District administration imposed a ban on entry and exit of all kinds of vehicle and unnecessary people's movement to and from the district except utility and emergency service providing vehicles, concerned people with it and persons in special and emergency need, deputy commissioner Md Enamul Haque told newsmen.

He said all steps have been taken to prevent spreading corona virus in the district.

Civil Surgeon office sources said another coronavirus infected patient aged around 35 years was found in the district after first COVID-19 case was confirmed a few days ago.

The deputy commissioner, however, said to mitigate the hardship of poor people due to coronavirus situation, a list of 71 thousands destitute families was made for distribution relief materials, of which, 60 thousand families already got the assistance.

He said rice sale at Tk 10 per kilogram is being sold in six points of the district so the poor people can buy rice at cheaper price.
