Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammad Javed Patwary has expressed his gratitude to news reporters who covered police's relentless hard work to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.

A press release issued from the law enforcing agency today reads, "In order to prevent the spread of the deadly coronavirus worldwide, members of various police units of Bangladesh have been working unabashedly in multi-dimensional and innovative ways. In addition to implementing specific action plans prepared by the police headquarters in coordination with government directives, various initiatives of the police have made ordinary citizens hopeful and increased their morale.

"In the face of this crisis worldwide, the positive activities of the Bangladesh Police have been published in the media. It has been possible to deal with the rumours of coronavirus because of the efficient journalists. At the same time, the police members are motivated and encouraged, who are constantly ensuring the welfare of the people.

"Thanks to all the media journalists, including print and electronic media, for their unwavering support and the public service alongside Bangladesh Police amidst the coronavirus situation. Bangladesh Police also hope that, not only in case of coronavirus but also whenever the country needs it, this cooperation will also continue in future."
