Grameen Shakti provides food aid to 300 underprivileged families
It will provide this food assistance to the 300 families for three months.
Grameen Shakti Social Business Ltd has started providing food assistance to 1,500 members of 300 underprivileged families in 12 districts passing hard time during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
In the first phase, 250 families have already received cash and daily essentials like rice, lentils, potatoes, onions, oil, salt, soap and face masks, a press release reads.
The organisation will provide food assistance to the 300 families, including the remaining 50 families, for three months.
It has identified these families including elderly women and men, housemaids, beggars, differently-abled people and the sick who have yet to get any assistance during the shutdown.
The working and marginalized people of the country are suffering from food scarcity as they have no income due to the shutdown enforced to contain the spread of Covid-19.
