Abdus Salam, former chairman of Chittagong Development Authority (CDA), and eighteen members of his family have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Syed Nazrul Islam, younger brother of Abdus Salam and the director of Well Group, confirmed the matter in a Facebook post early on Thursday.

He also mentioned in the post that his older brother and the Well Group Chairman Syed Nurul Islan, wife of his younger brother and Well Group Director Syed Tariqul Islam and their mother were admitted to the Imperial Hospital in Chattogram city on Wednesday night.

However, one of their brothers and the Managing Director of Well Group Syed Sirajul Islam is in good health according to their family sources.
