The 65-year-old elderly man was stranded to Char Shafullya on Saturday and he had coronavirus symptoms

An elderly man has been rescued by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) form a char under Bera upazila in Pabna on Monday.

Confirming the matter to The Business Standard UNO Asif Anam Siddiqui said, "He has been admitted to isolation after being rescued. His samples will be sent to Rajshahi after collecting."

"We could not identify him as he is mentally imbalanced. But the locals say he was left on the char from a boat," he added.

The 65-year-old elderly man was stranded to Char Shafullya on Saturday and he had coronavirus symptoms. Later he fell sick on Sunday.

Informed by the locals, Asif Anam and Health and Family Planning Officer Sardar Md Milan Mahmud went with a medical team to rescue and admitted the elderly man into isolation unit of Bera Upazila Health Complex.
