A doctor died with coronavirus symptoms in Chattogram today.
The deceased is AM Jafar Hossain Rumi, 34, was a pediatrician at the Child Department of Mother and Childcare Hospital in the port city.
Director of Mother and Childcare Hospital Dr Nurul Haque said, the doctor breathed his last at Chattogram Medical College Hospital at around 6am today. At first, he was undergoing treatment at Mother and Childcare Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU). He was admitted in the hospital on May 16 with respiratory problem. Then he was shifted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital's ICU as per decision of his family. He had high blood pressure too for many days. His samples were tested twice and result came negative for coronavirus infection.
