Chattogram has reported three casualties among the total 27 people infected with novel coronavirus till date.

A doctor among 12 test Covid-19 positive in Ctg

Eleven more people, including a 28-year old doctor from port city's Katalganj area, tested positive for the Covid-19 in Chattogram.

Twelve people were diagnosed with coronavirus infection among the 118 samples tested at Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID) lab on April 14, Chattogram Civil Surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi told The Business Standard, adding that one of them are from Noakhali.

"We have provided information of the infected patients to the local administration and their residences have been instructed to bring under immediate lockdown," he added.

Among the infected, five are from Satkania upazila, four from the city's Sagorika area, one from Panchlaish area and one was found under treatment at the CCU unit of Max Hospital & Diagnostic Ltd.

However, all were taken to the isolation facilities, he further added.

Dr Fazle Rabbi also said, "After a patient was diagnosed with Covid-19 at the CCU unit of Max hospital, all the doctor and nurses, who came in contact with the patient, were sent to hospital quarantine."

Till date, Chattogram has reported three casualties among the 27 people infected with the novel coronavirus.
