Disregarding hygiene rules will result in strict lockdown again: Quader
"The government will have no option other than imposing strict lockdown again if people fail to abide by the health regulations"
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader warned today that strict lockdown will be imposed again if the Covid-19 health guidelines are not followed everywhere, including public transports.
"The government will have no option other than imposing strict lockdown again if people fail to abide by the health regulations after public transportation resumes on 29 April," the minister said in a video message from his residence on Sunday.
The government has decided to relax the ongoing countrywide lockdown after 28 April. Public transportation will resume, as well as the government and private offices but to a limited extent, reports Jagonews24.
The period of lockdown will not be extended and gradually everything will begin to operate in accordance with the hygiene rules, according to the State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain.
He said, "No mask no service- will be implemented thoroughly".
"The issue of resuming public transport is in the stage of consideration as we have to get back to normality," he said adding, "However, it will be done only in compliance with the health guidelines."
In an attempt to curb the surging Covid-19 cases an eight-day stringent lockdown was imposed from 14 April but the government later extended it till 28 April as the situation did not improve.
