DGHS recommends resumption of public transports in cities
However, DGHS Director General (DG) Prof. Dr. ABM Khurshid did not advise for allowing inter-district bus services to operate
The Directorate General of Health Service (DGHS) has suggested resuming the public transports only in metropolitan cities.
However DGHS Director General (DG) Prof. Dr. ABM Khurshid on Monday did not advise for allowing inter-district bus services to operate.
Earlier on Sunday, the recommendation was made at an inter-ministerial virtual meeting chaired by Health Minister Zahid Maleque.
The meeting was held to review the ongoing nationwide lockdown and determine future course of action to prevent coronavirus infection.
A total of 16 recommendations were made at the meeting.
Public transport was suspended on 5 April as part of the countrywide lockdown measures in the face of an alarming surge of coronavirus infections in the country.
