Cumilla Medical College starts coronavirus testing

Cumilla Medical College started testing samples of suspected coronavirus patients at the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) lab on Wednesday afternoon.

A team from Dhaka started the examination work with the help of six doctors and technicians of the medical college.

In the first phase, work will be done in one shift. Later, it will be extended. Cumilla Medical College Principal Professor Dr Mostafa Kamal Azad said it would be possible to test 90 to 96 samples in each shift.

Freedom fighter Akam Bahauddin Bahar, a member of parliament and chief adviser of the Corona Prevention and Control Committee, inaugurated the lab on Monday.
