Covid-19 stricken MP Mansur Rahman airlifted to Dhaka
He has been admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital in the capital
Dr Md Mansur Rahman, member of parliament from Rajshahi constituency, has been airlifted to Dhaka from Rajshahi for better treatment after he diagnosed positive with the novel coronavirus.
A special helicopter of Biman Bangladesh Airlines flew him to Dhaka at Prime Minister Sheik Hasina's directive, said Shafiqul Islam, the MP's assistant.
He has been admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital in the capital.
According to family members, Dr Mansur Rahman's physical condition is well now. No coronavirus symptoms such as fever, cough and sore throat have been showing up yet.
Earlier on August 22, he was found positive for the virus after his sample was tested at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
The Bangladesh Air Force continues to provide emergency air transport and medical evacuation services with professionalism to ensure cooperation with the country's civil administration to prevent coronavirus, read a press release issued by Inter Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR).
