The Covid-19 National Technical Advisory Committee has expressed satisfaction with the vaccination programme and congratulated the government.

They expressed their opinion on continuing free vaccination through government agencies.

The committee also discussed the second dose and called for a continuous campaign about vaccination.

The calls were made at the 26th online meeting of the committee, presided over by the Chairman Prof Mohammad Sahidullah on Sunday, said a press release.

The committee expressed that the free vaccination activities should continue through government agencies initially.

The National Advisory Committee discussed the timing of the second dose of the Covishield vaccine and they think that the second dose should be given at intervals of 8 to 12 weeks as per the recommendations of WHO which is scientifically logical.

They specially advised the government to follow this proposal. They urged the government to adopt a rapid action plan keeping the expiry date in mind.

The committee also suggested to continue the campaign as before to increase public awareness about health guidance.
