Covid-19 claims 30 more lives, infects 1,687
The positivity rate was recorded at 9.94% in the last 24 hours
Bangladesh reported 30 more deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the total death count to 12,724.
During this period, the fatality rate was 1.58%, according to the data provided by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Meanwhile, 1,687 more people were infected with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, which took the case count to 8,05,980.
In the preceding 24 hours, the positivity rate was recorded at 9.94% after testing 16,972 samples in 509 labs across the country.
Among the latest day's victims, 21 were men, and nine were women. Of the victims, 28 died in different hospitals across the country while two at home.
Moreover, eight of the deceased hailed from the Rajshahi division, six each from Dhaka and Chattogram, four from Rangpur, three from Khulna, two from Sylhet and one from Barishal division.
Also, 1,970 patients were declared free of Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, with a 92.57% recovery rate.
The Covid-19 victims' gender breakdown shows that 9,181 of the total deceased across the country were men and 3,543 were women.
The country's maiden cases were reported on 8 March last year and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March.
