Covid-19 claims 25 more lives, new cases 1,441
As of Monday, 7,90,521 people have contracted the virus in the country
Bangladesh reported 25 more deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the total death count to 12,401.
During this period, the fatality rate was 1.57%, according to the data provided by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Meanwhile, 1,441 more people were infected with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, which took the case count to 7,90,521.
In the preceding 24 hours, the positivity rate was recorded at 8.15% after testing 17,683 samples in 486 labs across the country.
Among the latest day's victims, 21 were men, and four were women. Of them, 23 victims died in different hospitals across the country while two at home.
Of the deceased, seven hailed from Khulna, six each from the Dhaka and Chattogram divisions, and three each from Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions.
Also, 834 patients were declared free of Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, with a 92.54% recovery rate.
The Covid-19 victims' gender breakdown shows that 8,969 of the total deceased across the country were men and 3,432 were women.
The country's maiden cases were reported on 8 March last year and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March.

As of Monday, 3,478,958 people globally succumbed to the viral disease and so far 167,544,279 people contracted the virus, according to data provided by Worldometer.
