Bangladesh has logged ten more deaths from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours till Monday at 8am.
The country's death toll from the virus now stands at 8,137, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In the meantime, 443 people tested positive for Covid-19, raising the total cases in the country to 535,582.
The latest day's infection rate was 3.55% of the total tests, while the death rate stood at 1.52%.
In the past 24 hours, 472 patients were declared infection-free, raising the total number of recoveries to 480,216 with an 89.66% recovery rate.
Among the latest day's victims, nine were men and one was a woman. All of them died in different hospitals across the country.
Seven of the deceased hailed from Dhaka, and one each from the Chattogram, Barishal and Sylhet division.
In the past 24 hours, 12,475 samples were tested in 206 labs across the country. A total of 3,664,197 samples have been tested in the country so far.
The gender breakdown of Covid-19 victims shows that 6,166 of the total deceased were men and 1,971 were women.
The country's first Covid-19 case was reported on 8 March last year while the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March.
