Covid-19: Chattogram lawmaker goes into self-isolation
Mentioning that the lawmaker was in good health, his son Faraz Karim told The Business Standard, “My father was engaged in social works like relief distribution amid the coronavirus outbreak.”
Fazle Karim Chowdhury, a parliament member from Chattogram-6 (Raozan) constituency, has gone into self-isolation after Raozan upazila chairman tested positive for the coronavirus on May 19.
Fazle Karim is also the chairperson of the parliamentary standing committee on the railway ministry.
Mentioning that the lawmaker was in good health, his son Faraz Karim told The Business Standard, "My father was engaged in social works like relief distribution amid the coronavirus outbreak."
"After the upazila chairman has been reported Covid-19 positive, we have put my father in isolation at home as a cautionary step," he added.
However, some 977 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Chattogram so far.
Of them, 120 have left hospitals after recovery and 41 have died.
