Covid-19 cases cross 12,600-mark in Chattogram
180 more patients tested positive for the virus after testing some 936 samples in the last 24 hours
The number of Covid-19 infections in Chattogram has now reached to 12,669.
"180 more patients tested positive for the virus after testing some 936 samples in the last 24 hours. One died from the novel coronavirus in the district while 11 people recovered," Chattogram Civil Surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi told The Business Standard.
A total of 221 people have died from Covid-19 in Chattogram so far. Of the infected, 103 are from the port city and 77 are from different upazilas of Chattogram district.
The civil surgeon further informed that 56 out of 238 samples tested at the Chattogram University lab came back positive, at the BITID in Fauzdarhat, 25 found Covid-19 positive out of 86 samples, in Chattogram Medical College Lab, 238 people were tested and 26 came positive for the virus.
Besides, 52 people were tested and 6 found positive in Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, in Cox's Bazar Medical College Lab 5 people came out positive out of 16, in the private Imperial Hospital lab, 226 samples were tested and 32 found positive and 29 out of 77 samples tested in the Chevron Lab came out positive.
A total of 1,498 patients have recovered in Chattogram so far, according to the Chattogram Civil Surgeon's Office provided the information.
