Former Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD) Minister Engineer Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain has been infected with coronavirus.

Hossain confirmed UNB about his condition. "I tested positive for coronavirus three days ago and am currently living at home in Faridpur," he said.

Hossain also requested everyone to pray for his recovery.

Hossain became expatriates' welfare minister in 2009 and was later made LGRD Minister in the last tenure of Awami League government.

Currently, he has been working as president of the Standing Committee on LGRD Ministry.
