China Harbour donates Covid-19 relief in Tangail
The Chinese company donated 10 tonnes of rice, 2 tonnes of sugar, 2,000 packets of vermicelli and 2 tonnes of potatoes
China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) Ltd donated foodstuffs for 2,000 poor families affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in Tangail-1 constituency.
Harun-ar-Rashid Hira, chairman of Dhonbari upazilla received the relief materials including 10 tonnes of rice, 2 tonnes of sugar, 2,000 packets of vermicelli, 2 tonnes of potatoes from Md Shahed Ramjan, chief coordinator of CHEC Ltd on Sunday, said a press release.
Md Shahed Ramjan said, "The pandemic has no borders and is the public enemy of all humanity. We will gather greater strength and we will surely achieve the final victory overcoming the pandemic. A friend in need is a friend indeed, the foodstuffs for poor families is a testament to the company's commitment to fulfilling its social responsibility in Bangladesh".
Earlier, the company donated coronavirus diagnostic kits and protection items to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, foodstuffs and protection materials for poor people at Mirsarai and Anowara Upazilas in Chattogram and Madaripur.
