Chattogram records 105 new Covid-19 cases, no deaths

In the last 24 hours till Friday morning, 105 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Chattogram district and no one has died of the virus there in that time period.

Since the start of the pandemic, 30,444 people have tested positive for the virus in Chattogram.

According to a report released by the civil surgeon's office on Friday (1 January) morning, 1,582 samples were tested at seven labs in Chattogram and the Cox's Bazar Medical College Lab during the last 24 hours.

At the Chattogram University lab, 104 samples were tested and 13 people were found to be infected with the novel coronavirus.

At the Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases, 566 samples were tested and 15 Covid-19 patients were identified.

Ten people were found positive for Covid-19 after testing 363 samples in Chattogram Medical College's lab.

Meanwhile, the Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University's lab tested 137 samples, and identified 21 Covid-19 patients.

In addition, 17 people were found positive for the novel coronavirus after testing 89 samples at the Imperial Hospital Lab, while 161 samples were tested at the Chevron Clinical Laboratory, where 12 people were diagnosed with the virus.

The Regional TB Referral Laboratory of the General Hospital tested 26 samples and found 16 Covid-19 positive cases.

Samples were not tested for Covid-19 at the Chattogram Maternal and Child Hospital lab on that day.

Meanwhile, Cox's Bazar Medical College lab tested 136 samples from Chattogram and identified one Covid-19 case.

Chattogram Civil Surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi said 93 of the new Covid-19 patients were from Chattogram city and 12 from the upazilas.
