Clearing and Forwarding (C&F) agents of Bangladesh and India held a meeting at Bhomra land port in Satkhira on resuming export and import business between the two countries which has been shut due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The meeting was held at Zero Point Border area of Bhomra on Friday afternoon.

At the meeting, the Bangladeshi side proposed to load and unload 1500 trucks waiting at Zero Point to export raw materials and other goods to India.

"Indian traders do not want to start export-import activities at this moment. They will discuss the matter with the customs authorities and inform us later," said Mostafizur Rahman Nasim, general secretary of the C&F Agents Association of Bhomra Land Port.

Sheikh Enam Ahmed, revenue officer of Bhomra Customs, said, "All the export-import activities are closed in the country due to the coronavirus outbreak. We do not have any exact information on when it will start again. However, officers and employees of all levels of the port are holding regular office."
