Barguna doctor not infected with Covid-19
The physician had been in home quarantine since Thursday last after he developed symptoms similar to those of the novel coronavirus
The doctor, who was admitted in the isolation of Barguna General Hospital from home quarantine with coronavirus symptoms, has been tested negative for the novel coronavirus.
Confirming the matter to The Business Standard on Wednesday, Barguna Civil Surgeon Dr Humayun Shaheen Khan said, "Coronavirus was not found in his sample tested by Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR). He is suffering from some other diseases."
"The news of his not being affected by coronavirus has brought relief and happiness to us. No one from Barguna has been infected with the virus till now," said Barguna Deputy Commissioner Mostain Billah.
Earlier the doctor was sent to the isolation unit of Barguna General Hospital after his health conditions deteriorated while staying in home quarantine.
The physician had been in home quarantine since Thursday last after he developed symptoms similar to those of the novel coronavirus.
Later his samples were collected immediately and were sent to IEDCR under district administration's supervision.
