A Bangladeshi physician is sending Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to Dhaka from China in fight against coronavirus.
The physician Misbahul Ferdous, who works in Beijing's Fuwai Hospital, said 100 protective suits, 100 protective eye glasses, 450 face-shields, 4,000 surgical masks, 600 N94 (Korea) masks would arrive in Dhaka by March 29.
The emergency medical equipment was being sent to Dhaka with the help of Prof Dr Yongijian Wu at Fuwai Hospital, Prof Junbo Ge, president of Cardiology Association of China, Yong Huo, vice-president of the association, officials of the Asian Society of Cardiology and three Chinese organisations, he added.
The equipment will be distributed to big hospitals such as Birdem General Hospital, Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital.
"We have a plan to distribute the medical equipment in the hospitals of district towns," Misbahul said.
It would also be distributed to the members of law enforcement agencies and airport officials at risk, he added.
He also said that a group of young doctors had contacted him from Bangladesh.
The equipment would be distributed through those doctors, he said.
Dr Yongijian Wu said, "We are with our Bangladeshi friends. We are always with the Bangladeshi cardiologists, who always support us."
