The daily death toll from Covid-19 has increased to 32 in the last 24 hours. For the last three days, the daily fatalities were reported below 30.
As of Monday, 12,181 people have lost their lives to Covid-19.
Meanwhile, 698 more people were infected with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, which took the case count to 7,80,857. On Sunday, Bangladesh had recorded 363 daily cases.
The fatality rate was recorded at 1.56% during the period, while the positivity rate increased to 6.75%, said a media statement issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Among the latest day's victims, 23 were men, and 9 were women.30 victims died in different hospitals across the country and two died at home.
Moreover, 21 of the deceased hailed from the Dhaka Division, 3 from Sylhet, 2 each from Chattogram, Rajshahi, Khulna and 1 each from Barishal and Mymensingh divisions.
Also, 1,058 patients were declared free of Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, with a 92.60% recovery rate.
The country's maiden cases were reported on 8 March last year and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March.
India recorded 281,386 new cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in the last 24 hours, the Union health ministry update showed on Monday.
With this, the total tally reached 24,965,463, reports Hindustan Times.
The data updated at 8am showed that 4,106 people succumbed to the disease in the said period, which pushed up the death toll to 274,390.
Covid-19 has claimed 3,394,311 lives worldwide and infected 163,750,604 so far, according to the data provided by Worldometer.
