Bangladesh confirmed 31 more Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours until early Sunday.
With this, the total number of fatalities reached 4,733 and the death rate stood at 1.40%, according to a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services.
In the last 24 hours, 1,476 people tested Covid-19 positive, bringing the infection tally to 337,520.
The latest daily infection rate was 11.35% while the overall rate stood at 19.53%.
Of the deceased, 25 were men and six were women. Eighteen of them were from Dhaka division, five from Chattogram, two each from Rajshahi, Sylhet, Rangpur, and one each from Khulna and Mymensingh.
The total number of recovered patients has reached 240,643 including 2,372 new ones in the last 24 hours, and the recovery rate rose to 71.30%.
And 12,999 samples were tested in 94 labs across the country at that time. So far 1,728,480 samples have been tested.
Up to now, 3,686 men and 1,047 women have died from Covid-19 across the country.
Of the fatality victims, 2,293 were from Dhaka division, 1,001 from Chattogram, 401 from Khulna, 319 from Rajshahi, 225 from Rangpur, 212 from Sylhet, 180 from Barishal, and 102 from Mymensingh division.
The country is passing its 27th week of Covid-19 infection after the first cases were confirmed on March 8.
