Army distributes Iftar among 550 poor families in Savar

The Bangladesh Army has distributed Iftar items among 550 helpless, destitute and low-income families in Savar during the nationwide shutdown enforced to slow the transmission of Covid-19.
The 9th Infantry Division today arranged the programme titled "Sampritir Iftar" at Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center (BPATC), Savar on the outskirts of Dhaka, reads a press release of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The army personnel also encouraged the marginalised families to follow hygiene rules and maintain social distancing to contain the spread of novel coronavirus.
Since the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak in the country, the 9th Infantry Division has been carrying out various programmes, including providing free medical services, distributing relief items among the destitute by ensuring social distancing in their localities.
Additionally, they have provided the people with masks and disinfectants, and initiated Sampriti markets and distributed free vegetables among the vulnerable people. They have also distributed agro seeds among poor farmers.
