Another cop dies of Covid-19 in Dhaka

A sub-inspector working at the special branch of Bangladesh Police has died from the novel coronavirus while undergoing treatment at Impulse Hospital in the capital. 

Confirming the death to The Business Standard, Assistant Inspector General (media) of the Police Headquarters Md Sohel Rana said the victim, Rasel Biswas, died today while undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh recorded 15 more deaths with infection rate marching up, reaching the highest of 21.79 percent in the period of 24-hour.

The Health Directorate reported 2,029 new cases of virus infection, testing 9,310 samples during the time in the country.

With this, the death toll from the deadly virus rose to 559 and the number of total infections stood at 40,321.
