All of the deceased policemen were posted in the DMP

As of Sunday, 1,549 policemen have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, while 724 among them are from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

Besides, the Bangladesh Police reported that seven policemen have died of the deadly virus so far, and all of them were posted in the DMP. 

Assistant Inspector General of the Police Headquarters Sohel Rana has confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.

The seven members are ASI Raghunath Roy, ASI Sultanul Arefin, ASI Abdul Khaleque, Traffic Constable Ashek Mahmud, Constable Jasim Uddin and Constable Jalal Uddin Khoka.

Until Sunday, 147 policemen have recovered from the novel coronavirus, said police sources. Around 2,870 police personnel are in home quarantine, while 1,089 others are in isolation.
