Covid-19 infections rising in Bangladesh
7 deaths from Covid-19 and 1,018 new cases were reported today

Bangladesh witnessed rise in Covid-19 infection rate with 1,018 newly reported cases in last 24 hours.
The latest day's infection rate was 5.98% of the total tests, said a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). The infection rate was 5.13% on Tuesday.
The overall infection rate in the country till date stands at 13.18%. The number of novel coronavirus cases in the country reached at 553,105.
DGHS on Wednesday confirmed seven more deaths from the novel coronavirus during past 24 hours.
The country's death toll from the dreaded virus now stands at 8,496. The death rate stands at 1.54%.
Among the latest day's victims, four were men and three were women.
Moreover, four of them hailed from Dhaka, two from Chattogram and one from Barishal division.
All the deceased died in different hospitals across the country.
Meanwhile, 17,299 samples were tested in 219 labs across the country in the past 24 hours. A total of 4,197,970 samples have been tested in the country so far.
Also, 1,264 patients were declared free of Covid-19 during the same period, raising the total number of recoveries to 506,613 with a 91.59% recovery rate.
The gender breakdown of Covid-19 victims' shows that 6,424 of the total deceased were men and 2,072 were women.
The country's maiden cases were reported on March 8 this year and the first death from the virus was reported on March 18.
