7-day lockdown imposed in Satkhira from Saturday
Civil Surgeon Dr Hussain Shafayat said the decision has been taken for sudden rise in Covid-19 infection
Local district administration has imposed seven-day lockdown in Satkhira district in the wake of sudden spike of Covid-19 case in the bordering district.
The decision was taken at Covid-19 protection committee on Thursday.
Deputy Commissioner SM Mostafa Kamal, District civil surgeon Dr. Md Hussain Shafayat, Police superintendent Md Mostafizur Rahman and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
Civil Surgeon Dr Hussain Shafayat said the decision has been taken for sudden rise in Covid-19 infection.
SM Mostafa Kamal, the deputy commissioner of the district said that the decision of seven-day complete lockdown from June 5 on the first phase, has been taken in the meeting of the committee for the sake of safeguard of the residents of the district.
The DC urged all to help administration to implement lockdown.
Everything what is needed to implement lockdown in highest level, will be done for the safeguard of people, said Mostafa Kamal.
Health Department, district administration and district police department will work jointly to implement lockdown, he added.
Satkhira district reported more than 41 percent of coronavirus detection rate in the last eight days till 1 June.
