Sixty-five members of police have died from the novel coronavirus in the country as of Sunday.

Some 15,429 members of the law enforcement agency have tested Covid-19 positive so far and 2,714 among the infected cops are from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said a press release.

Till date, 18,125 policemen have been put under quarantine, while 13,138 have recovered from the virus, the press release added.

Nationwide the death toll has hit 3,365, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed in its daily briefing on Sunday.

Besides, 2,487 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported over the past 24 hours till Sunday at 8:00 am, raising the tally to 2,57,600.
