Six people including doctors and nurses have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Pabna.
With the new cases, the number of coronavirus patients in the district stands at eight, Pabna Deputy Commissioner Kabir Mahmud confirmed.
The deputy commissioner said, "The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) on Tuesday morning confirmed of the six new cases via email."
"Three of them are residents of Pabna Sadar, two are from Bhangura and one is a resident of Chatmohar upazila. The patients include a doctor, a senior nurse, a lab technician and a cultural worker," he added.
Upazila nirbahi officer has already been instructed to make a list of the people, who came in contact with the infected patients. Their samples will be collected soon, he added.
Pabna Civil Surgeon Dr Mehedi Iqbal said, "The infected patients had early symptoms. For now, they will be treated in isolation at home. If necessary, they will be sent to Pabna Community Hospital."
