32 more Covid-19 deaths, 1,275 new cases in Bangladesh

Bangladesh has confirmed 32 more deaths from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours till Sunday 8am.
The country's death toll from the virus now stands at 5,161, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In the last 24 hours, 1,275 people tested positive for Covid-19 which took the number of novel coronavirus cases in the country to 359,148.
The latest day's infection rate was 11.93% of the total tests, while the overall rate in the country to date is 18.81%.
A total of 1,714 patients were declared free of the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours and the total number of recoveries reached 270,419.
A total 10,685 samples were tested in 105 laboratories across the country over the same period. So far, 1,909,460 samples have been tested.
Around 75% of novel coronavirus patients – both symptomatic and asymptomatic – have recovered in Bangladesh so far, while 1.44% have died.
Among the patients who died in the last 24 hours, 22 were men and 10 were women. Moreover, 20 of them hailed from Dhaka, five from Chattogram, four from Khulna, one from Rajshahi, and two from Sylhet.
All of them died in different hospitals across the country, reads the press release.
A breakdown the division-wise fatalities reveals that of all the persons who died from Covid-19, 2,566 hailed from Dhaka division, 1,065 from Chattogram, 337 from Rajshahi, 433 from Khulna, 187 from Barishal, 228 from Sylhet, 237 from Rangpur, and 108 from Mymensingh.
The country's first Covid-19 cases were detected on March 8 this year. The first death from the virus was reported 10 days later, on March 18.
