2.26 lakh more people get vaccinated
Bangladesh rolled out its Covid-19 vaccination campaign on 7 February
On Tuesday, the tenth day of the nationwide Covid-19 immunisation drive, Bangladesh vaccinated 2.26 lakh people. Now, a total of 13,59,613 people have received the vaccine since the campaign began on 7 February.
On 16 February, some 2,26,902 people – of whom 1,48,992 are male and 77,010 are female – received the jabs in the country. At least 34,044 individuals were vaccinated in the capital alone, according to The Directorate General of Health Services.
After receiving the jabs, around 35 individuals experienced mild side effects.
So far, about 426 people reported experiencing side-effects.
As of 6pm on Tuesday, some 22.98 lakh people were registered to receive the vaccination in the country.
Earlier, on 7 February, Bangladesh rolled out the vaccination campaign and is currently operating at 1,005 centres across the country. Except for on weekends, around 2,400 teams are inoculating citizens from 8am to 2:30pm every day.
