Some 206 people tested positive for coronavirus in Chattogram on Tuesday night.

Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, said, "621 samples were tested in four laboratories. Of the infected 119 are from the port city and 87 others are from different upazilas of Chattogram."

According to the civil surgeon's information, 251 samples were tested at Chattogram Medical College and Hospital, of them 87 tested positive.  Among the infected, 74 are from the city and 13 others are from different upazilas.

He said 252 samples were examined at Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID) lab at Fouzdarhat and 59 diagnosed with Covid-19. Of them, 36 are from Chattogram city and 23 are from different upazilas.

Another 111 samples were tested at Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) lab and 59 came positive. Of them, nine are from the city and 50 are from different upazilas.

One tested positive at Cox's Bazar Medical College and Hospital lab, who hailed from Chattogram.

Besides the 206 new cases in Chattogram, 49 Covid-19 cases were reported in Patiya, 12 cases in Banshkhali, 10 in Hathazari, three in Sitakunda, eight in Fatikchari, one in Mirsarai, three in Raozan and one in Lohagara.
