140 more people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Chattogram on Friday after testing some 596 samples.
The number of patients suffering from Covid-19 in Chattogram is now 3,806, according to the information released by Chattogram Civil Surgeon Surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi.
Among the 140 newly identified cases, 72 people are from Chattogram city and the remaining 68 are from different upazilas.
According to the Civil Surgeon's Office, some 279 samples were tested at the Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID) where 40 new Covid-19 patients were identified. At Chittagong Medical College Hospital some 155 samples were tested where 50 positive cases were found and from Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) lab 50 Covid-19 cases were identified from 155 samples.
