10 Covid patients who fled Jashore hospital detained
All of the detainees have been admitted to the Covid ward of the hospital again for treatment
Police have nabbed the 10 Covid-19 patients, including seven India returnees from different areas in Jashore district on Monday, hours after they fled the designated ward at the 250-bed district general hospital.
The 10 patients are – Fatema Begum, 57, resident of Jashore town; Mala Datta, 50; Fatema Begum, 19, resident of Panchbaria village of Sadar upazila; Ruma, 30; Momin, resident of Protapkathi village; Nasima Begum, 50, resident of Ramkantopur village; Shahidul Islam, 45, resident of Bagharpara upazila; Shefali Rani, resident of Jhenidah district; Amirul Sana, resident of Paikgaccha upazila in Khulna district; and Sohel, 17, resident of Rupsha of Khulna.
Confirming the news, Jashore Kotwali police station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Tajul Islam said all of the detainees have been admitted to the Covid ward of the hospital again for treatment.
Earlier, the Covid patients ran away between Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon, said Dr Dilip Kumar Roy, superviser of the hospital.
The seven patients who returned from India were admitted to the hospital Saturday at 10:57 am and three others came on Sunday, he added.
