Youth came to visit in-law’s house, ended up in quarantine
Samples have been collected to send them to IEDCR for a test, said Bera upazila health and family planning officer
Local administration has sent a suspected coronavirus-infected youth to home quarantine in Pabna's Bera upazila.
A hawker by profession, the 25-year-old from Naogaon came to his father-in-law's house on Wednesday.
He had fever and other symptoms of Covid-19. Being panicked about the youth's possible coronavirus infection, residents informed local Union Parishad Chairman Rejaul Haque Babu who then contacted the upazila administration.
Representatives from the local administration went to see the youth and finally placed him in quarantine in upazila parishad bungalow house.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Asif Anam Siddique said, "We are not sure if that young man is infected with coronavirus. We considered the risks and placed him in quarantine. Everyone who was in touch with him also has been instructed to be in home quarantine. Upazila Parishad supplied necessary commodities for that family."
Bera upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Sarder Md Milon Mahmud said, "That young man is suffering from fever and soar throat. He informed that he already had a tonsil problem. We sent him in quarantine to avoid the risks and collected samples from him to send to IEDCR for a test."
