Later, the hospital authorities instructed him to stay in home quarantine.
But as he developed shortness of breath and his health condition started to deteriorate, he was rushed to Kurmitola Hospital on Tuesday night, where the authorities declared him dead.
The patient was buried in his village on Wednesday morning. Upazila administration, police and health department officials went to his village home after being informed and locked down the whole village after hearing about the symptoms.
"We don't know if he died of coronavirus or not. We locked down the village as a precaution," Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ireen Akter told Prothom Alo.
"We heard that a few of his relatives joined in his namaz-e-janaza. We are making a list of them and will send them to home quarantine," she added.
