WFTO awards ‘Guaranteed Membership’ to Leatherina
Leatherina Pvt Ltd has been awarded "Guaranteed Membership" by the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) recently.
The Netherlands based organization announced the membership of Leatherina on their Facebook and LinkedIn official pages on Tuesday after sending the membership certificate, read a press release.
The global organization awarded the membership to Leatherina responding to the application submitted in November 2020. It was followed by a rigorous social and accounts-keeping audit of by their expert.

The WFTO has been working relentlessly to promote fair trade worldwide in the small and medium business segment to ensure the fair wages of workers, ethical practices in business, creating livelihood opportunities for disadvantaged people in business along with protection of the environment and so on.
Leatherina marks the achievement as a special milestone in its entrepreneurial journey into sustainable fashion production.
"Being officially onboard the global fair trade community, we feel stronger and more committed to contribute to the SDG goal of sustainable production and consumption through our business," the company said.
As many as 19 Bangladeshi social enterprises are operating under the social compliance monitoring system of WFTO.
Prokritee, CORR - The Jute Works, BRAC-Aarong, Tarango, Creations, and Classical Handmade etc. are among the members of WFTO working in Bangladesh.
