Country's electronics giant Walton launched an online based video making contest titled 'Smart Fridge, Smart Maker.' 

The contestant will have to make a maximum 90-second duration video content on Walton fridge based on their own script to win up to Tk 1 lakh, said a press release of Walton. 

The first round of the two-round video making competition will start on December 1 and will continue throughout the month. 

Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited's (WHIL) Managing Director engineer Golam Murshed officially launched the 'Smart Fridge, Smart Maker' video making contest at a programme held at the Walton Corporate Office at the city's Bashundhara Residential Area on Monday.

The launching programme was attended by National Film Award winner Nargis Akter, WHIL's Deputy Managing Directors Nazrul Islam Sarker, Eva Rezwana Nilu and Amdadul Haque Sarker, Executive Directors SM Zahid Hasan, Humayun Kabir, Uday Hakim, Tanvir Rahman, Mohammad Rayhan, Firoj Alam, Anisur Rahman Mallik, Mostafa Nahid Hossain, Dr. Shakhawat Hossen and Amin Khan, Senior Deputy Executive Director Shahjada Salim, Deputy Executive Director Shahjalal Limon, Senior Operative Director Robiul Alam Bhuiyan, Deputy Operative Director Shahiduzzaman Rana, First Senior Additional Directors Mustafizur Rahman and Milton Ahmed.

After making the video content on Walton fridge based on own script, they have to send it to Walton Refrigerator email address smartfridgesmartmaker@gmail.com. 

A 3-member panel consisting film maker Nargis Akter, actor Amin Khan and Walton Executive Director and Brand Development Coordinator Firoj Alam will select publishable video. Then the makers have to release approved videos on social media with the hashtag #SmartFridgeSmartMaker. Each of these video contents will be marking based on 100 marks, of which 25 marks on story, 50 marks on content development and 25 marks on the maker's social media activities.  

The top 10 highest marks obtainer will be promoted to the second round. Then, each of them will be given Tk 20,000 with a script for making another video. In the second round, each video content will have 100 marks, of which 50 marks on video content development and the rest 50 marks on the maker's social media activities. 

Among the 10 contestants, the top 3 highest marks obtainers will be announced as the 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners of the competition. 

Among the awardees, the first award winner get Tk 1 lakh while the second and the third winners will get Tk 50,000 and Tk 30,000 respectively. The other contestants will get Walton Refrigerator's complementary gift hampers.
