Kamran Bakr, an eminent corporate leader of the country, has joined the board of directors of Robi Axiata Limited as an independent non-executive director.
He will also serve as chairman of the Board Risk and Compliance Committee.
Welcoming Kamran to the Board, Dato' Izzaddin Idris, chairman of Robi Axiata, said, "The depth of Kamran's corporate experience especially in the FMCG business and his fresh insights will serve the board well in charting a solid growth path as Robi's transformation into the digital champion of the industry continues to gain traction. Kamran led Unilever Bangladesh from 2012 to 2017 as its chairman and managing director and Unilever Nepal as its managing director from 2007 to 2011. He also served Unilever Bangladesh Limited as its non-executive chairman from 2018 to mid-2020.
