Telecommunications company Grameenphone has won the Best Brand Award for The Most Loved Brand of 2020 under the category of Mobile Phone Service Provider.

The recognition was presented to the organisation by the Bangladesh Brand Forum at the 12th edition of the Best Brand Awards highlighting the continued trust of customers, said a media statement on Sunday.

Nielsen Bangladesh conducted a survey – which also included self-administered reviews – of 7,600 consumers nationwide, to determine the winner.

On this occasion, Sajjad Hasib, CMO of Grameenphone, said, "The entire team of Grameenphone is thankful to our customers and partners. It gives us more responsibility to serve our customers more enthusiastically."

"We have tried to bring about numerous initiatives along with our partners to support the customers and the people of Bangladesh in 2020 as it was the year of Covid-19 pandemic," he added.

"I would like to show my gratitude to all our network partners, distributors, their field forces, and the retailer network that kept their operations running to provide services to our valued customers," he continued.

"Our success does not belong to us only, but it also reflects our customers' and partners' continuous support and trust. As a digital connectivity partner of Bangladesh, we have always tried to bring simplified solutions to our customers – specially to make things possible with the power of internet – and we will continue to work and bring about more initiatives to connect people to what matters the most," he said.

The Best Brand Award, commencing in 2008, recognised 105 brands in 37 categories this year.
