Germany-based Siegwerk, a leading global supplier of printing inks for packaging applications and labels, inaugurated its ink blending center in Bangladesh.

Located at the Meghna Economic Zone in Narayanganj, the center will providecustomised solutions for the Bangladesh market, said a press statement issued by the company on Monday.

The state-of-the-art blending centerhas an annual production capacity of 3,600 tonnes of inks.

Siegwerk has been supplying printing ink in Bangladesh since the mid-nineties.The company passed two centuries since its beginning in Germany.

"Previously, Siegwerk did supply inks to Bangladesh from its plant in India. The new centre is already commissioned and has completely taken over the supply of blended inks from February this year," said Ashish Pradhan, president (Asia) of Siegwerk.

According to the press statement, the blending centre manufactures and supplies toluene-free inks to ensure the health safety of consumers of packaged food.

The inks produced will be compliant with global regulatory and brand owner requirements to ensure that products are safe for end-use packaging applications.

Siegwerk has a robust global production and service network and has offered customers consistently high-quality products for about two centuries.

With the addition of this centre in Bangladesh, Siegwerk currently has more than 31 blending centres worldwide.
