With an aim to create 10,000 more skilled workers in the construction sector, the Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) signed a memorandum of understanding with the finance ministry's Skills for Employment Investment Programme (SEIP).

The agreement was signed on Thursday afternoon, said a press statement.

Rehab president Alamgir Shamsul Alamin and executive project director of SEIP Md Zahidul Haque signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.

Rehab training institute standing committee chairman Md Al Amin and other Rehab officials, among others, were present at the event.

According to the press statement, around 10,000 construction workers have received training through Rehab training institutes and outsourcing in 15 institutes so far.

Training is provided free of cost. At the same time, scholarships are given to each trainee. The duration of training is of three months. At the end of the training, students will have employment opportunities in the country and abroad.
